The ‘Woodcut Artist’s Handbook’ arrived yesterday along with some practice blocks of wood and one piece of basswood. My plan was to establish which tools were used for what/how to hold them and then do some mark making.

As the course doesn’t give any significant information about wood cutting I knew if I was going to make any use of the tools I was given I’d need to do some research/learning. I found this book on Amazon, and from looking at the few sample pages and owner’s review’s it seemed like a good book to buy to help me.
Below are some photo’s of the tools I’ve been given to learn to use. No idea what half of them do/how to care for them, but that’s what I hope to learn!
