Exercise: Too much or not enough information

It feels like I’ve been working on this for awhile, and whilst I’m pleased that I’ve completed the poster for the second rationale I still have work to do on the first.

Tonight I’m meeting up with a friend who works as a graphic designer who is going to help me make the poster for the first rationale using Illustrator/Photoshop. I want to keep a similar style in terms of looking hand drawn by working from scan’s of the poster’s first attempt. I traced the instruments and lettering from the poster yesterday in preparation for this evening and manipulating them using illustrator.

I drew the instruments with two different types of black pen, a brush pen and a very small fine liner, because I’m not sure which type will best suit being traced in Illustrator. I think I prefer the look of the fine line at the moment but didn’t want to pin everything on it, just in case it looked awful as a vector image.

I’m going to use different colours to the first design as they looked very patriotic, which could’ve mislead the audience into thinking it was some sort of British festival or event. I need to find a colour scheme that says summer, music and park.
