We brough an old wooden cabinet from our local tip for £10. It was quite weather beaten, in parts most of the varnish had flaked off, leaving the wood exposed. But we saw potential for a lovely cabinet.
Here’s how it looked before we got to work:
I began by using a sanding block on the top of the cabinet, this was probably the most weathered part this didn’t take too long…
We quickly realised that hand sanding the rest of the cabinet (which wasn’t as weathered) would be a much harder task so borrowed an electric sander and began working outside.
We had to give work on the Cabinet a break for a few weeks, as snow and rain set in, making it impossible to work outside. But next post I’ll show you how the Cabinet now looks (after priming!).
